Tokyo Exhibit
About the award:
This concept for a children’s museum won an Award of Excellence from ASAI in the Sketch Category. It was one of approximately sixty pieces chosen from a field of over four hundred international entries to be included in a traveling exhibit of outstanding architectural illustration. The show opened at Pola Museum Ginza, in Tokyo, Japan last September.
About the image:
This idea originated from discussions and back-of-napkin sketches of a design aimed at raising interest in creating a distinctive facility in Eugene similar to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland. Depicted in the same Alton Baker Park location as the current children’s museum, The Science Factory, our sketch envisions a destination science and industry museum that highlights alternative energy and expands the age range of its audience.
