H Boutique Jewelry store, 5th Street Public Market, Eugene, OR
Project type: Retail design / tenant improvement
Collaboration with Studio-e Architecture
The H, located inside The Inn at The Fifth, is a departure from Harry Ritchie’s traditional romance lines. This elegant concept boutique blends jewelry, clothing, and art to create a unique shopping experience.
To give the space flexibility for hosting promotional events and parties, many of the fixtures, all custom designed and fabricated for The H, are movable, including the freestanding pedestal cases and the “coffee table” display case. Fixed display cases line the perimeter of the shop. To subtly reinforce the brand, the “H” logotype was used to create a three-dimensional wall pattern behind the cases.
The pièce de résistance is a ribbon-like case attached directly to the full height glass wall making it appear to float. It gives passersby a look at featured jewelry and glimpses into the store from the hotel corridor.
Hopper design was asked to re-think the ribbon case when the shop fixtures were used in the redesign of the Harry Ritchie’s flagship store at Valley River center. It now wraps the storefront, standing on slender white legs. You can see photos on our blog page
