Chef and owner Rocky Maselli defines rustic as “excellent ingredients prepared simply.” He wanted to project a modern yet rustic eatery aesthetic in both his food and the design of his restaurant. In Italian, “sfizio” denotes a craving that’s hard to satisfy, or “to satisfy one’s whim.” It implies a blend of the guilt and joy brought on by indulgence.

We captured this aesthetic with a simple and fun logo. We developed several variations which were then used to produce the menu, business cards, and interior and exterior signage.

This project won the AIA Southwest Oregon Chapter People’s Choice Award and Colleagues’ Choice Award for the architecture firm Arbor South.
