Harry Ritchie’s Jewelers, Lloyd Center Mall, Portland, Oregon
Project type: Retail store design
Collaboration with Studio-e Architecture
We are particularly proud of our long-standing relationship with Harry Ritchie Jewelers (HRJ) as they have worked to re-imagine their brand and open a series of new stores. Hopper Design collaborated on eight store projects for the company between 2008 and 2018.
Together with the HRJ marketing team and Studio-e Architecture, we developed design strategies to enhance the company’s success and create beautiful, accessible environments and memorable experiences for their customers. The first rebranded store features elements that have been further refined and distilled into an ever-evolving design aesthetic as the company continues to transform and grow.
HRJ knew they wanted to distinguish their stores from the traditional mall jewelry shop and reinforce their established brand as a heritage family-owned jeweler with over 50 years of experience in the industry. The design team focused on reshaping the jewelry store experience to attract the feminine without alienating male customers. The design aims to bridge classic and modern elements and highlight the HRJ core values of love, romance, and family for a new generation.
